Subject: The most interesting yield map ever

I use yield maps mostly to see which production practices made a difference in that crop in that year. Yield maps for different crops can look almost the opposite on a field from one year to the other.

This was an irrigated field of hybrid seed canola. It was pollinated by honey bees (situated in the SW and NW corners of the field) and leaf cutter bees (in shelters where the green circles are). The leaf cutters didn't seem to go far from their shelters that year, and the honey bees only pollinated well in the SW part of the field. The yield difference between the red zones and the green zones amounted to about $1500/ac.

I also used a different type of sprinkler on a portion of the pivot, about 3 spans in the center of the machine.
