Redwood Falls, MN | We use a blend of DAP/Potash and Urea in the band in the fall and usually are applying somewhere around 400# of total product. Usually the Urea is the larger quantities. We apply 32%/ATS blend with the planter applied 0x2 behind the closing wheels and 3 gal of 10-34-0 + ZN in-furrow. They are all vary rate applied for a 220bu yield goal. The 32/ATS is the first prescription done and is based off of soil OM for the S. Then the DAP/Potash blend is varied by the most limiting nutrient from the soil test, which for us is usually P. That leaves the single product, Urea, to vary to get us to our desired N rate (140#). After the fall application, we have our P, K and 85% of our N applied and will finish that with the planter application of 32/ATS. We haven't seen any issue with seedling burn by doing it in the fall and really like that band 2.5" below the seed for an adequate level of fertility right there.
