EC IA | It's still alive - sprayer is following the planter. I do think drilling the rye with a skip would probably be better from an airflow perspective as well, but maybe not as effective for erosion control. We'll try a lower seeding rate this fall.
Feels like we're caught at this point - can't really kill the rye ahead of the planter without creating a mat that will stay wet, but ground isn't fit to plant into when we want to be planting. Maybe it'll use more water going forward - concern then is if it gets enough stem that it won't fall over as well, and may cost yield from shading like we saw last year.
