It has to do with the chem bonding to soil particles and or plant residue.Im quite sure it has never been seen as an issue.There is an issue with extra added spreader when using around the base of young fruit trees as the spreader can cause it to enter bark easier.Once they said it could cause an issue with vine spread (cucurbits)across recently killed covers but I think the study was determined flawed,,what I know anyhow,,some times not much so...
