Last year we hired a guy with an air seeder to plant our oats mixed with clover. Set depth for a good oat stand and figured any clover as a bonus. The first Pic shows the clover we had left this spring, and this was after a light discing early March to incorporate some poultry litter.

This spring we used the small box on a box drill to put down the clover ahead of the oats. Planted March 13th. 2nd & 3rd pics show results, I expect there's more clover emerged now but too wet to check.
