Check to see if you have the half rate drive kit. On my 3500 it's a 34 tooth sprocket and a longer roller chain. You replace the 17 tooth sprocket with the 34 tooth sprocket on the inside end of the top transmission shaft. The transmission turns at half speed but the number of rows is doubled so the rate is close to what is printed in the chart. I plant all my beans on 15" rows at a rate of 140,000 on good soils up to 180,000+ on poor soils or double crop.

Very good information there david.

Also, look at the germination percentage on your soybeans. Cause I ended up switching to a different seed this year. And it is only 80% instead of 90%.
