New Castle, PA | We usually plant several hundred sweet onion plants . In the past we have always planted into a shallow trench and then hilled them usually twice . Is that a good way or to old fashion . I see a lot of the Amish produce growers planting them thru black plastic in a double row and letting them grow with the bulbs being almost on top of the ground . What say Mainefarmer and others | |
