NE Iowa- where they trapped them in the 80’s to repopulate the rest of the US. Literally
I have seen them go down the row after a snow- pick the kernels off the cob and leave the cob and husk on the plant. Cousin picked 9 acres of corn cobs late on fall with an ear corn pucker to prove a point to DNR.
They are Dumb bird. Tend to nest in low damp areas.
You haven’t lived until you hit one at 60 with your windshield and you have a dead one flopping around in the front seat with you. | |
