Western Ontario | They were introduced to our area about 20 years ago and grew like wildfire, it was probably about 10 years before there was a turkey hunt and off the start they would wander up to the buildings in fairly large flocks and you could almost hunt them with a hammer. They can put a lot of corn on the ground, I saw a big Tom one day basically knocking plants down with his breast, picked a few kernels off and moved on to the next. There’s definitely not as many around here as 5 years ago, I have a neighbor that is continually in the bush and hunting and he claims the coyotes have learned how to hunt them and put a dent in their population. | |
