perryton, tx | The problem with our no-till ground is the spotty 6” tall wheat last year appraised at 1-3 bu and now there is absolutely zero cover left. I’ve had to work several no till fields going to Milo just to keep them from blowing away. I experimented with planting some strips of triticale for cover in October on the most naked ground and it does seem to have helped but we’ll see what kind of yield penalty I pay for the moisture the triticale used. | |
