last year was abnormally dry. personal experience i would never fertilize until after first crop . you stated mid june take off. nitrogen now and wet spring can result in phenominal growth and yield by then. problem is will go down , bottom foot brown skanky rotten,and too much to feed through rake.. terrible memories.
