West Central Indiana | Disease ratings are somewhat important to me and agronomists advice can benefit my yields sometimes but I’ve also had it go the other way. Just because they claim it’s 3-5 bu. better in there little impact trial than older variety, it doesn’t always perform across many acres.
I guess I look more at emergence scores/harvest standibility/good SCN line. How it performs across many locations. I tend to lean toward group2s or early-mid 3s mainly because I don’t like cutting beans late fall. Probably 75% have the Peking SCN line this year on my acres.
Then comes the hard choices on when to plant? Is treating them worth it? Just need that crystal ball to find when the late rains will come to choose the right maturity range. | |
