Farmington, Mo | I use the prescription generator on Deere’s command center. I use previous yield data averaged together to create 4 to 5 zones and I attempt to use populations in the 7-8 bushels per thousand plants range.
On my ground, my zones are typically 32,30,28,26 and 24 on the bottom end if I use 5 zones. The majority of my fields fall into the 30 and 28K zones.
I also VR my UAN sidedress based on the planting map to feed the extra plants in those higher zones. In my mind, the extra plants don’t matter much without the groceries to carry them through.
Not sure if it’s right but it seems to be working so far. | |
