| As an experiment I had snapping roll knives made for 2 row units on my Drago. The T1 steel was laser cut for size and holes and the "knives" were left with an unsharpened edge that I rounded slightly. They performed about the same as worn out knives, or new knives that have the edge dulled with a grinder. I don't have a head with fluted rolls to compare, but I don't doubt the fluted rolls would do a better job at leaving the stalks intact. I have also found that the edge to edge knife rolls don't feed if the gap is too large or they are offset to intermesh. |
