Southern Missouri | Problem with 30 inch here in the very flat precision leveled area I’m in is you can’t get near as tall a bed to plant on with 30 s as you can with 38 s , we’re at the northern end of the cotton belt and have many cool wet springs , seen many times the taller bed made the total difference in getting a stand of cotton vs a crappy stand , 30 s bee tried here a lot , been changed back to 38 almost every time , for grains here everyone on 38 inch beds uses twin row planters so have two rows 8 inches apart on top the 38 inch beds , so still have the tall bed, cotton is all single row on top the 38 inch bed
