| Farm located in northern Illinois with variety of soils, silt-loam to sandy-loam.
Like to plant soybeans first due to their ability to emerge under/after less than ideal April weather. Winter annuals are coming on pretty strong this spring given the warm March temperatures and abundant rain.
My 2 pass soybean program is looking like a pre of Fierce MTZ (Valor, Zidua, Metribuzin), might throw some RUP or dicamba in for the really hairy spots.

My question is how early prior to planting has anyone applied a residual chem and not regretted it? I've had slight chemical induced emergence problems in the past after cold rains. My thinking is to go in a little early (14 days?) and hopefully there's less residual chemical for the soybean to metabolize at planting. | |
