| Hello everyone! I'm new here. My husband and I recently purchased 5 acres - a pittance compared to some of your plots, I know! - and we realized after the first rain that the drain tile that's on the east side of the driveway backflows substantially when there's rainfall or standing water. This floods probably a little over 3/4 acres of our and the neighbor's property.
I have not "scoped" the drain, but I assume that it connects to the tile that my neighbors on both sides use (blue line). This blue line tile continues to the creek. The red line is the tile that is back flowing in heavy rain.
What are some things I can do to prevent this backflowing? Is a standpipe a viable option (understanding I will have to install it prior to substantial rainfall, and remove it when water begins to recede)? Or a check valve, if I can find the connection to the main tile?
Or is this not a solvable situation?
Thank you!
