Subject: RE: Planting corn ahead of cold rain

Malta, Illinois
As someone else pointed out, different hybrids can react differently. I don’t like a cold rain on corn that has been is the ground less than four or five days but I tend to be more concerned with the temperatures going forward after the rain. If temps are forecast to rise into the 60’s and 70’s shortly after the rain I don’t worry as much. If they are calling for a week of 40’s and 50’s with lows in the 30’s I will leave the planter sit if it is before the 10th of may.
