Northeastern Pa. | My UAN supplier called Friday and told me I better order more if I wanted it. He said companies where hauling what was in the port next week and that would be it until at least June. They are trying to reroute dry and liquid to the Philadelphia Port but they're not sure if and when that will happen. He also said a significant price hike on anything bought now. Hope you farmers that get from Baltimore have yours or at least contracted. I knew this was going to happen. I'm sure it will be another excuse to raise fuel prices too. This is just another situation do to not producing our own fertilizer here. Natural gas prices are at an all-time low and that used to be what set nitrogen fertilizer prices. Over 100 natural gas wells have been shut down around me in the last few months because of the low prices and the new reduction in what is allowed to be exported. | |
