| Corn will keep virtually forever if it is dry and where the air can circulate around the bins.
Put Damascus earth in when you are filling it and under the floor. Get the corn down to 11 or 12 and do not worry about it.
I am pretty sure some came in to a local elevator in good shape that had been there 30 years. ( or more)
Probably put in in the late 70's and taken out between 2005 and 2010. It has been a while.
I am not sure the circumstances but I do know the original owner died and every one thought the corn would be bad so nothing happened with it until the land was sold for houses.
My experience is the first year is the hardest and then less chance of problems every year. | |
