No, have to keep the rpms up to avoid plugging the blower, and to throw the snow far enough.
That means a very slow reverse is needed.
We hardly ever use ours, because usually in S Ohio, when we get a big snow, it is a wet snow, and blowers don't like wet snow.
We get along better with plows on pickups.
