Pittsburg, Kansas | Can't help you much with todays purchases Ray. We bought ours many years ago and quit accumulating also quite a few years ago.
I will say it depends on if you buy larger bars or one ounce rounds. The larger bars are usually a little bit cheaper (don't have to run them through a stamping machine) but I always figured when it came time to get rid of them (which I probably will never do, it will be my kids folly) individual rounds gave a person a lot more options.
I presume you are talking about generic rounds. If you buy US mint coins that are legal tender you are going to pay a little more. I have a few of those but very few. Most of what I have are just generic rounds bought for the metal. Bought a few of the generic 1 oz bars early on but decided I did not like them. Came in plastic sleeves and were not an easy thing to store a bunch of them. Rounds in a plastic tube were my preference.
Sorry no help on the price. Good to hear from you. Been quite a while since you stopped by. | |
