Cedar Rapids, Iowa | We have ran stalk stompers in the past, I think they lean over the stalk, but the stalk still has integrity, so if you drive in the opposite direction, they still poke the tires pretty hard.
We put devastators on our corn head about 4 years ago and have been happy with them. It crunches the stalk in several places and they're left pretty weak. From what I can tell, zero damage to tires. I have never seen them build up a pile of trash under the corn head either. They do make it a challenge to put header on a head trailer, but you won't have that issue.
Short answer, the next header we get will have devastators again. | |
