Central ND | I'll be the odd one out. Have one in my current house, and don't use it. Unless there's different kinds out there, mine is just a waste of water. When its on it constantly runs water on the filter and then straight down to the drain. We instead use table top ones as needed that put mist into the air.
But I could see how easily they could be added to an existing furnace. We do have a humidistat control, so keep that in mind you may not have wires ran to hook something like that up. Remodeling the farmhouse now and think I ran like 9 or 10 wires from the furnace up to the thermostat. Then I've got plenty of extra if I want to do a better style basement humidifier or dehumidifier. | |
