Subject: JD 8225R oil pan gasket replacement??



ECMS		I'm pulling the engine on my 8225r because the oil pan gasket is leaking quite bad. I plan to do a rear main engine oil seal while its out. Any other things I should do at the same time? It's around 3500 hrs. Bought it with 1200hrs.

WC/Indiana		I would replace water pump and thermostats, change coolant.

Nemaha County		On the rear main seal, I replaced the original seal with one out of a 7.6L/8.1L. Changed the housing and bolts over to the older version. Does your tractor have ILS? If it does, just remember to block the front end up level then take all the pressure off the ILS cylinders. A lot easier to reinstall the engine with everything level.
