Subject: RE: Seed disks for Milo on jd planter

Salina, Kansas
I have heard the sugar beat plate thing also but have never tried it. We plant a lot of Milo and always have just used the Milo plates and quite frequently plant in that 3 lb range. For the most part I would say it works fine but I think the bigger holes in the Milo plates let a few doubles get by especially when the seed gets really small but never have a big problem with it in the Milo. The smaller holes in the sugar beat disk should work good though and might be worth a try. It seems the Milo seed has need trending a bit smaller over the years.
