Southeastern Tipton County, Indiana | Hilltop Husker - 1/2/2021 09:52 The front frame matters to me in terms of "frame size". That is where the maneuverability comes or goes. That is where the new "magnums" suffer from reduced visibility. I don't know anyone who ever tore the rear end out of a puma. So it must have enough heft to work. Why case made a frame you can't see the inside two rows because it's too wide is beyond me.
From a service tech position and with these tractors, "Frame Size" is always in reference to the drive train, input shaft back.
Let's go back to the old IH tractors. A 656 and a 756 had the same frame rail widths and shared attaching point dimensions for front implements. But, due to drivetrain differences a 656 is a "small frame" Farmall and a 756 is a "large frame" Farmall.
BTW, blame the bulbous nose on the new tractors on emissions and the added cooling needed due to the emissions requirements. |
