Southeast WI | Be better if you upgraded to a 7200 or newer conservation planter, however HD down pressure spring kit from shoup and nice floating trash whippers with depth bands from yetter, Martin, etc will make a 7000 work. Do not need notill fert coulter's if you put fert on that way - at least not after soil mellows in a few years once the beatings (tillage) stop. In our ground the mohawk/Lofquist closing wheels are a nice compliment.
I've kinda wanted to upgrade for 15 years now but a properly equipped 7000 like you have does a nice job of notilling. And we have some rocky crap ground in places. BS to those that say it can't be done. | |
