Subject: RE: tire size on sprayer tractor

Mason City, IL
I use 18.4 on my spray tractor also. I haven't had any problems with to much damage or with weeds coming up in the tracks. ( knock on wood). It may be because the tread is almost gone? I also plant at an angle to the direction I spray so I do not take a row out the length of the field. Tractor is an old 4450 - no fluid or weights on it except for 200# on each rear. O they are old bias tires so do not squash out either. Worst part is they are about worn out were the tread meats the side wall, beginning to see threads so will have to figure out what to do soon myself.
