Another option is to make the manual swing hopper push easier. I damaged one of the wheels on my swinging hopper so I substituted a john deere planter closing wheel as a temporary replacement. I keep an extra on hand rather than replace a bearing during the planting day.
Ironically, the planter closing wheel made the hopper swing much easier and I just may replace the other original wheel. For what is worth.
