Most likely it is a "net meter system" involved that pulls electric from the grid when night falls or the cloud comes thru. Which also puts E back on the grid during excess production. I watch my net meter daily to see if it is going forward or backward (10 kW wind turbine). With up to 36' waves predicted for Lake Ontario the next couple days I'm willing to guess it will be spinning backwards for a few days.
