Subject: RE: Pex and Concrete.....

Kingston,Mi
My in floor pex is tied to the 1/2 inch rebar on 18 inch spacing. My floor has tight cracks (concrete cracks, nature of the product). The contractor installed a pressure gage on the manifold when it was installed 6 years ago, I haven't connected the heat yet, the pressure was set at 30 PSI in 2012 and is 25 PSI today. Each loop is continuous from manifold to manifold.

There should be enough "stretch" in pex to follow the expansion of good concrete. If the concrete displaces enough to damage pex, you should have read and followed the NAT posts on the general uselessness of fiber reinforcement instead of actual steel rebar. Last comment is intended as humor but is based in fact.
