SW So Dakota | I never served but am a member of our local Sons of the American Legion squadron. My Dad served during the Korean War. We help with the color guard at funerals, parades, or whenever needed. I have mixed emotions about our group. I don't feel worthy to wear the uniform but I am humbled to help my fathers generation bury it's heros. I don't know, just don't feel like we belong in the same room with the guys that actually served but I guess we are appreciated. | |
