NE NEBRASKA | I was just thinking the same the other day. I used to go to Cabela's almost 5 times a year and now I've only been there once since the buyout. I saw one Red Head branded item on that trip and couldn't take it. The Capital One issued card was really my breaking point.
I liked Cabela's do much I was even a shareholder. A activist investor came in pushing for changes forcing the sale to make short term money. Cabela's owned their own credit card which did good. I think the company could have survived being World's Foremost Bank that happened to run a chain a outdoor stores
