Yes I understand that but what are you trying to figure out?
The volume of the beans is figured in bushels (volume) but when you sell or value them they are looked at as 60 lb units and yours are only 55 in a bushel.
So if you are looking at value then you need to calculate tons or lbs not bushels

that is why I get confused because I never know whether people are figuring volume or weight.

It is easier here because if we sell beans they are weighed in tonnes or kilograms and even though some people price them in 60 lb units or 'bushels' as they call those 60 lb units we know they are looking at weight. Besides when we had a bushel it was a different size than the one you use in the US.
It becomes even easier when we just deal in tonnes or kilograms but some people like to make it difficult and convert weights all the time but the fact is they are all sold by weight as I know of no scales that measure anything in bushels.
