The song was so hard to understand that the FCC got involved due to the accusation of dirty lyrics. The FCC even tried playing the record at different speeds. The FCC concluded that the song was "unintelligible at any speed". This helped create a lot of record sales.
Later some wine company produced an entire album of the song done by different artists. The tracks varied considerably, there was even a track done by the Ohio State Marching band. I think I still have it but no turntable. Maybe I'll buy one of those Bluetooth turntables I saw to play my old records.
I wasn't really paying attention to the half time show so I missed the bleeping. I wasn't impressed by what I did watch of it but then I'm old.
