In no way is AWD going to keep someone from hitting you. It may get you a little farther in snowy or slick conditions, but it will do nothing for stopping/stability issues. Anti-lock braking however, may keep someone else from hitting you. I agree with the statement about a false sense of security. Most people driving today don't really know how to drive and do have a real false sense of security from AWD and Anti-lock brakes. A good driver who learned to drive in harsh conditions can actually stop faster without anti-lock brakes. Patrick
