Is there somewhat of a limit to how cold of temperatures can be seen without snowpack? Tough to get below zero without snow here, but as one goes further north can those extreme temperatures be had without the cooling effect that snow brings?
Do those in the northern tier ever really get used to this type weather? If it was below zero for a month does the body get acclimated to that or do those temps still make a person feel cold? Is there a lower temperature point where no matter what one would feel cold or is it just a matter of getting used to it?
Coming from the summer heat side, one can tolerate 98F and 95% humidity but not sure that it ever gets to the point of feeling comfortable with those temps.
When it gets cold, snowpack is warmer than bare ground.
Yes, you get somewhat used to it. "Here", 40 degrees in the fall is pretty cold. 40 in March, folks will be outside in T shirts. Cold is still cold, you still have to dress for the weather.
Just my opinions. |
