Back in 1980 thru 1983, I made farm loans for FmHA in the winter-time. Those were extreme drought years in Arkansas. I learned more in those months than I did in the best Ag school in Arkansas (ASU). Visiting operations, analyzing balance sheets, looking at yields and costs, really taught me a lot. You can learn a lot from bad examples and good examples.
