North Central OH | Saw it back in Dec. wasn't near home was near Huston at SIL's for Christmas. It's an interesting film, wife liked it a lot, doesn't quite go the direction you might think. It is focused more on the experience of the average British solder rater than battles and the whole war. Starts at signing up, goes thru training and deployment, and life in the trenches, no combat footage as it doesn't exist. They use actual veteran interview recordings and period artwork for the combat sequence. The story of making it afterwards is worth staying for, they skipped over enough footage to make two or three more films. | |
