Grant Co. ND | We got a load of coal for free. (It was the post with the old dodge 500.) The coal is pretty fine with some large size mixed through out. Grandpa said the fine coal would be ok in the furnace. He installed it and was the local HVAC professional. Well guess what, the coldest morning we have had in awhile, -10, and no heat. Great! I know the coal pile is huge on top of the auger. Why did it go out?
After some investigating I think the auger is moving freely with the fine coal and not pushing it like it is suppose too. Everything is working, I can feel the auger still moving. The blower is working but no coal in the burn hole.
Now for the biggest challenge, I am 99% sure I will not have to move the coal pile to reach the auger and move the bigger chucks of coal to the auger to push the fine coal theough. Please tell me there is an easier way. There is about 10tons of coal to move to get to the auger.
