Subject: RE: What to charge to plow snow? Parking lot

Central Illinois
Dmpaul89, I have Plowed the church parking lot for many years. First with my tractor, loader and rear blade. Since 95 I have used a pickup mounted snowplow. I have not charged the church to clear the lot and drive way. I do have snowplow endorsement on the plow truck. Most people understand how much work it takes and can't complain if the church is not paying for the service.

If you have sidewalks, get a small snow blower to clean them.

Always get some salt.

When the snow is fresh and wet, get it moved as soon as possible. If the temperature drops, it will be harder to push when it freezes down.

If the parking lot is asphalt, make sure it is seal coated. When a little sun comes out after plowing the remaining snow melts off and then dries up.
