Interesting stats, but I'm curious if they really mean specifically savings accounts. If so that could skew the data. I keep my emergency fund in a certificate of deposit and my personal checking account. No point transferring extra money from the checking account if the savings account pays the same interest. So, technically I don't have more than $1000 in a savings account myself.
Where do they find these people.
