-for the opinions. As always, they range from helpful to really not helpful, but that's what you get when you ask on NAT... :)
I'm leaning toward just not using the vent, we've never had one & got along fine, & yeah, there is a hood over the stove with a fan. I think the cook can be brought on board with that idea too...
