I think bells are pretty tough to cast, not sure about cast iron but heard bronze recast about 25 %. Would take a real pro to weld and not get hard/soft spot. Is the clapper hitting the crack? Should be able to loosen bolt on top and rotate bell to hit new spot as they get a flat spot and changes sound
