I see you got it solved. The ivory or any bar soap with no grit in it will work. Take a soft cloth, slightly moistened, and rub the ivory bar on it, typically in a corner.
Then take the cloth loaded up with soap and coat the lense with the soap, take another soft cloth, or a opposite side of the same cloth and lightly buff the soap coated lens.
