E. Kansas | I hope you call your County Clerk, or whoever in your county oversees the election, and have them explain in detail the process used at your polling location. If it were me asking, I would not tell them about your interest in the number on the ballot when requesting the explanation. Only afterward if there was nothing said about the number would I mention it, and then ask the details of why it is there and how the confidentiality is kept. The number usage should be explained without you having to ask. I don't see how it is right for any ballot cast to be personally identifiable in any manner.
