Subject: RE: First piece of machinery you ever bought

jlase - 11/4/2018 20:58 In 2007 we started farming on our own. I rented equipment from others that first year. In 2008 we bought an John Deere 8120 with 1800 hours on it. It has been a good tractor, if I would have know how things were going to go I would have bought a brand NEW 8130 with ILS and Front duals. But I was doubting spending the money for an 8120 even, I was looking for 8100's that were about $15,000 cheaper at the time. The wife and father-in-law pushed me to buy the 8120. I am glad they at least convinced me to do that. Went on to buy a 16/31 1780 to plant with, and 960 field cultivator that spring and a 1040 Kinze that fall. Still use it all but the 1780, I have since traded for a 1790.
any reason you wanted the ILS and front duals.  Not concerned about increase problems with the ILS.
