I secured a local customs broker to handle the customs paperwork. That helped a lot.
I wouldn’t be afraid to do it again, but plan on buying large quanities to maximize ocean freight. I looked at buying some plastic vents for a livestock building this summer. I kind of wanted to get my hands on one before committing to a couple pallets full. The one cent was $15. It was going to be $400 freight to send it DHL.
Words of caution: watch the calendar. China shuts down for some holidays, especially the new year (late January, for like 3 weeks.
