Subject: RE: Blown in insulation house attic question

Allegan County Michigan
Always had ice dam problems in my house...re roofed a few years ago, once shingles were off, we removed the bottom sheet of plywood, flipped it back onto the roof, installed chutes between each truss. While the attic was exposed, i drug insulation from the center out to the edge(had drywall showing in many spots), and then re installed the plywood. Filled in the center of the attic after all was said and done with many bales. No more ice dams. This was a spec house built in 1989 only had chutes every fourth truss to start. Between the lack of ventilation and the lack of insulation it's no wonder i had ice issues! Attics need to breath!
